Aso ni San Roque (transl. dog of San Roque / international title: San Roque's Pet) is a Philippine television drama fantasy series produced by GMA Network. Don Michael Perez directed the show, with Mona Louise Rey in the lead role. It first aired on September 10, 2012, as part of the network's Telebabad programming block, and ended on January 11, 2013, after 90 episodes. The series is also available for streaming on YouTube.
The story follows Fatima, a blind girl separated from her birth parents at a young age. She is raised by Mother Ben, an elderly gay man who works for a criminal syndicate. Mother Ben protects Fatima and uses her disability to help them escape the syndicate's cruelty. Fatima has a pure heart, but she also carries a dark secret: she is the child of a mortal man and a manananggal, a demoness that splits in half to fly and feed on blood. A prophecy declares that Fatima will bring about the end of all evil beings on earth. When she turns seven, witches, centaurs, mermaids, and other malignant creatures begin hunting her to stop the prophecy from being fulfilled.
The lead cast includes Mona Louise Rey as Fatima Salvador, a blind girl with a golden heart who is the offspring of a mortal and a manananggal, destined to end the dark forces threatening humanity. Princess the dog plays Anghel, the dog of Saint Roch, who comes to life to guide Fatima in her quests.
Supporting cast members include LJ Reyes as Lualhati Salvador / Lourdes, Mateo's great love. Lourdes is kind-hearted but conceals a dark secret: she belongs to a family of manananggal, though she is reluctant to embrace that nature. This revelation changes the love she and Mateo hoped to share, but joy returns when she gives birth to their daughter Fatima. A tragic twist later separates Lourdes from her baby. TJ Trinidad plays Mateo Salvador. Pen Medina portrays Ben Asino, an old gay man under a syndicate's control, loud and unconventional, who adopts Fatima and becomes her sole protector. Eddie Garcia appears as Supremo. Gardo Versoza is Kanlaon, king of the winged-vampire aswangs known as manananggal, who seeks to kill Fatima to prevent the prophecy.
